Former Boston College guard Ky Bowman has gone from an undrafted rookie to a starter in the NBA in the span of less than a month. According to The Athletic writer Anthony Slater, Bowman will be starting for the Warriors in tonight's game against the Charlotte Hornets.

Bowman, a rookie guard, chose to forgo his senior season instead entering the NBA Draft this June. He went undrafted, but decided to sign a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors. His decision to go pro looked like a bad move as it looked like he would be just going back and forth from the G-League.But Bowman found some playing time immediately with the Warriors, averaging about ten minutes a game through the first five games. He averaged 3.2 points while shooting 25% from the field, with .8 assists. On Wednesday Bowman had a career game scoring ten points against the Phoenix Suns.

But the rookie of BC will get his start tonight after an injury to the hand of Steph Curry will sideline the star for the next three months. During his time at Boston College, Bowman was a second team All-ACC team, averaging 19 points a game and a solid 7.5 rebounds. In ACC play, he ranked fourth in scoring, sixth in assists, ninth in rebounds, third in 3FG made, and fourth in 3FG%.

This is a huge opportunity for Ky Bowman, hopefully he will use it to build up his stock and make himself more than just a back of the bench guy. Golden State looks to be a team rebuilding this year, and he should find playing time as long as he takes advantage of it.

Good luck tonight Ky.
