Kansas 48 Boston College 24: Eagles Blown Out In Huge Upset

Boston College football lost one of the worst games in recent history as they dropped tonight's game to the Kansas Jayhawks 48-24 in front of a stunned audience at Alumni Stadium. After Kansas threw an interception and punted on the first two drives, they were virtually unstoppable for the remainder of the game, as Khalil Herbert and Pooka Williams gashed the Eagles on the ground, while Carter Stevens cut the the Eagles up through the air.
The defense was a complete mess on Friday night, allowing over 500 yards to a Kansas team that got only seven points last week against Coastal Carolina. They seemingly could not stop anything Kansas did, whether it was sloppy arm tackles followed by no second level help, or bad coverage in general. There was honestly not a positive to take away from their play this week as they were just decimated by Kansas's offense. There are going to be a lot of questions about this defense moving forward because Kansas should not have been able to move the ball like they did against BC.
The offense was not much better. After a first quarter where AJ Dillon basically battered Kansas to the ground, BC really never established themselves again getting shut out in the second half. Anthony Brown had his moments, but also looked very nervous and had some really bad throws as well that should have been intercepted. Two coming on one drive in the third quarter.
A loss like this is not a good sign for the Eagles, who have Rutgers next week. This was not a loss due to youth, or injuries, there was just bad form and a failure to make adjustments when needed. BC was a 21 point favorite tonight but went out there and got punched in the mouth and had no response. In terms of losses this has to go down as one of the worst in recent memory, probably rivaling Frank Spaziani's loss to Army in 2012.
Stay tuned folks, we will have more on this game coming up tomorrow.
