Boston College and (#15) Notre Dame face off in yet another installment of the "Holy War", a battle between two religious institutions on the gridiron. The importance of this game varies as depending on which fan base you ask this game is either a huge rivalry or just another game. Boston College fans will bring up David Gordon, Anthony Gonzalez or shutting out Jimmy Clausen in 2008, while ND fans may be quick to remind Eagles fans that the Irish are riding a five game winning streak in the series.

It has been a disappointing season for Notre Dame in terms of their standards. They currently sit at 8-2 with a close loss to Georgia and a blowout loss to Michigan a few weeks back. Quarterback Ian Book is a bit of an enigma, but the type of quarterback who has found great success against BC's struggling defense. Currently Book has 26 touchdowns through the air, and 4 on the ground, while not being the most accurate passer he can still be a playmaker and one BC will need to account for.

The Irish have weapons on offense, Tony Jones has rushed for 900 yards already, while they have arguably the best tight end in the country in Cole Kmet a 6'5 behemoth that is incredibly hard to guard. The rushing defense is not strong for Brian Kelly's club this year, as they rank 78th, but they have play makers in the secondary ranking 4th against the pass.

Storylines Going Into This Game

Notre Dame is filled with blue chip recruits, can Boston College keep pace? Can the defense prevent the explosive plays that have crippled the Eagles all season? How will Dennis Grosel keep Notre Dame honest so that AJ Dillon can do his thing? What about the health of David Bailey?
