Boston College faces off with NC State on Saturday at Alumni Stadium and will be donning their old school home uniforms according to a press release by BC's uniform creator Under Armour.  These uniforms, which have been worn by the Eagles before, are part of UA's CFB 150 campaign, which celebrates one hundred and fifty years of college football. According to the apparel designer the inspiration of the uniforms come from:

The Boston College Eagles will don throwback uniforms in honor of Eagles great, Doug Flutie, when they host NC State on Saturday, October 19th. The specialty heritage uniforms encapsulate the history of college football and the rich traditions at Boston College with their retro BC shoulder logos and block number font. The Eagles will look for a win against the Wolfpack through their bold maroon face masks and traditional gold helmets. The stripes on the sleeves and side panel of the gold pants pay homage to the uniform style and play of the 1980's when "Hail-Flutie" - a 60-plus yard touchdown, from Doug Flutie to Gerard Phelan in 1984, the season Flutie won the Heisman Trophy - sealed an epic 47-45 win against the Miami Hurricanes, becoming a staple for college football highlight reels and an enduring moment in the annals of Boston College's rich history.

The last time the Eagles wore these uniforms was against Clemson last year, in a big night game, that included hosting ESPN's College Gameday in the morning. The Eagles lost that game 27-7.
