Boston College Football: Welcome To Florida State Week!

It's an odd matchup this week, and we explain why

Boston College Football: Welcome To Florida State Week!

Boston College is riding high after a big win over Syracuse on Saturday, but in order to become bowl eligible they need to build off that win. This weekend, they take on Florida State in the annual Red Bandana Game happening at noon at Alumni Stadium. Honoring 9/11 hero Welles Crowther, the Red Bandana game is a special tradition at Boston College, as he is the ultimate symbol of the school's motto "Men and women for others."  Steve Addazio's team understands the importance and meaning of wearing those uniforms as the school has had big wins over USC, Miami and Florida State while wearing them.

The Eagles get the Seminoles in a very odd spot. On Sunday, FSU bought out Willie Taggart and fired him after amassing a 9-12 record with the Noles. Odell Haggins, a 26 year veteran FSU coach will be taking over on the sidelines this weekend and he is focused. "I'm not thinking about three, I’m thinking about the first one, this week of practice, preparing the kids, making sure everything is going well in the classroom, they’re going to class and practicing well and playing Boston College Saturday.
