3rd Star - Jason Maitre

Sophomore cornerback has been on BC fan's radar since the Wake Forest game and rightfully so as he showed flashes. On Saturday, N.C. State both offenses traded the ball back and forth and offense to open the game. With the Wolfpack backed up in there own end zone quarterback Bailey Hockman rolled out and misfired hitting the BC defender who just had to walk into the end zone for a score that gave BC the lead they wouldn't let give up. Maitre was active all day with 5 tackles and a few Pack pass break ups.

2nd Star - David Bailey

The bruising sophomore running back set the tone with two huge rumbles for scores of 54 yards and 48 yards, respectively. Bailey has been a strong 2nd option at running back all season for the Eagles and Saturday certainly didn't disappoint. He has been perfect backing up Dillon, allowing the AJ to get breathers and keeping both backs fresh in a run heavy offense. "

I feel like always, every time I go on the field, I feel like I have a point to prove. I always tell myself I'm the best player on the field, just like anyone else would." Bailey told reporters after the game Every week, it doesn’t matter what game it is and how many things I did, I just always go out there and feel like I have a point to prove. Just play my game every time and just keep rolling."

Bailey finished with 16 carries for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns.

1st Star - AJ Dillon

AJ Dillon had more than a typical day we have all become accustomed to. With Quarterback Dennis Grosel making his first career start, Dillon carried a large work load to the tun of 223 yards and 3 touchdowns on 34 carries. For a team that relies heavily on the run, and with a green QB like Grosel it is was crucial to see Dillon respond the way he has and kick this offense into gear. Dillon is now 2nd in the country in rushing yards, and just 75 yards short of Andre William's career record at BC.

Honorable Mention - The defense

The bye week couldn't have come at a more opportune time for this unit. BC's defense was floundering and were struggling at all levels  Saturday we saw a unit that was able to get pressure on the quarterback consistently (two sacks) and more importantly get off the field on 3rd downs. It was certainly a step in the right direction, and hopefully this will be the first of many improved games for this unit.
