"When is he going to land a four star recruit?"

This was the biggest question many recruiting observers had about Jeff Hafley and his new staff at Boston College. While it is hard to argue that the profile of his recruits have gone up markedly, that elusive highly sought after four star had yet to commit to the Eagles. And even though the head coach says star rankings don't matter, landing Clinton Burton Jr. is still a big deal for the new staff.

And they aren't done yet.

There are a handful of other four star recruits that many consider BC to either be in great shape for or possibly favorites.

Derek Wilkins

Four star defensive end out of Santa Margarita, California has Boston College in his final six. He hasn't had a chance to visit the Eagles yet, but BC is in great shape yet. Type of player that may end up committing to a local school, with BC in prime position to flip him if they can get him on campus.

Daymond David

Another four star defensive back, from Maryland. Down to Michigan, Oklahoma and Boston College. The Sooners were the presumptive favorites but have a bevy of other defensive backs either at the top of their list or already committed. If they aren't in, BC could be the favorite here.

Drew Kendall

The son of Pete Kendall, this four star offensive lineman is down to a handful of schools and should be deciding soon. 247sports were throwing in Crystal Ball Predictions to Michigan, but it looks like those have cooled. If the Wolverines are out, BC again could be the favorite.

George Rooks

St. Peter's Prep (New Jersey) defensive tackle, and four star recruit. Though 247 has BC as cool, have heard rumblings that the Eagles are still in good shape with him. Maybe not as confident as the previous names, but certainly one to watch.

As we saw, there may be other names out that aren't as strongly connected to the Eagles are report say. The commitment of Clinton Burton was a shock to many, as it looked like he was going to head to another power school like Alabama, or stick with Florida.

By landing Burton, the Eagles have opened some eyes. Not only the fans and analysts, but recruits as well. This is the type of commitment that may open the flood gates as other highly sought after recruits may want to follow suit. Keep your eyes open, Boston College football recruiting just got raised to a whole new level.
