Three BYU Players Named to All-Big 12 Second Team
On Wednesday, the Big 12 conference announced the all-conference selections for the 2023 football season. Three BYU players were named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
Junior defensive lineman Tyler Batty was the second-team defensive end while sophomore offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia was the second-team offensive tackle. Additionally, punter Ryan Rehkow was the second-team punter.
Seven other Cougars were honorable mentions for postseason awards this year.
- Tyler Batty was an honorable mention for defensive player of the year and defensive lineman of the year.
- Eddie Heckard was an honorable mention for All-Big 12 and defensive newcomer of the year.
- Darius Lassiter was an honorable mention for offensive newcomer of the year.
- Kamden Garrett, Paul Maile, Jakob Robinson, and Max Tooley were honorable mentions on the All-Big 12 teams.
