Betting Odds of Each Pac-12 Football Team to Win Conference Title

Early odds on teams’ chances to win the Pac-12 football title in 2023 were posted on three prominent betting sites this week, and while there was general agreement regarding the chances of the top six teams in the conference, there was disagreement on the odds of the teams in the bottom half.
Fan Duel, Caesars Sportsbooks and BetOnline all have USC as the favorite followed by Oregon and Washington virtually even as the second favorite and Utah fourth. USC had the best conference record last season before losing to Utah in the Pac-12 championship game, and the Utes have won the past two conference titles. USC boasts 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, while Washington (Michael Penix) and Oregon (Bo Nix) also have 2023 Heisman contenders as well.
There is a consensus that Stanford has the longest odds to win the Pac-12 championships, and all three sites place Cal’s odds at 75-to-1 to win the conference title for the first time since 2006. (Cal tied USC for the 2006 Pac-10 championship, and has not claimed a conference championship by itself since 1958, when it was the Pacific Coast Conference). So a $10 bet on the Golden Bears at any of these three sites would return $750 if Cal fools everyone and wins the 2023 Pac-12 championship.
The shortest odds available are the 9-to-5 odds on USC to win the title posted by Caesars Sportsbook, and the longest odds are the 300-to-1 odds on Stanford to win the Pac-12, also on Caesars Sportsbook.
Here are the odds for the three sites:
