Duke Basketball Recruiting: Battle Brewing With UConn for Five-Star

Duke basketball interest in Dwayne Aristode dates back to at least last summer. At the time, the budding prospect from the Netherlands, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward who has since climbed to No. 19 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite and attained five-star status, was gearing up for his first prep campaign in America after deciding to take his talents to Brewster Academy (N.H.).

Despite often mentioning in interviews that the Blue Devils have been in contact with him regularly, there's been no report of an offer from head coach Jon Scheyer.

Even so, Aristode is eyeing a trip to Duke this summer, the 17-year-old "win at all costs" competitor and long-limbed bucket-getter recently told Pro Insight. But the Blue Devils aren't alone in this regard, as he named several other big-name potential suitors he's penciling in on his calendar, including reigning back-to-back national champion UConn.

"I've kind of got my summer schedule laid out [for AAU]," Aristode explained. "So, between AAU, I'm gonna definitely start going on a lot of visits now. So, now's the time...I'd say UConn, Duke, Virginia, Xavier; I still have to take an official to UCLA because the last one was unofficial."

Thus far, only eight 2025 prospects, all still undecided in their recruitments, have reported offers from Scheyer and his crew. That Duke basketball wishlist consists purely of composite five-star talents, and all eight of them rank among the top 20 in the cycle.
