Duke names 2019 captains

Duke's football team elected six seniors to serve as captains for the upcoming season.

Chosen for the honor were: Zach Baker, Edgar Cerenord, Quentin Harris, Tre Hornbuckle, Koby Quansah and Dylan Singleton.

Baker, a fifth-year senior offensive guard who has played in 33 career games. He won last season’s Sonny Falcone Award, for year-round commitment to strength training and conditioning.

Cerenord, a sixth-year senior defensive tackle, has played 41 career games with 59 tackles. Last season was cut short by injury, leading to the NCAA granting him a sixth season of eligibility.

Harris, a redshirt senior quarterback who inherited the starting job, has completed 41-of-81 (.506) passes for 510 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception while rushing 78 times for 275 yards and seven touchdowns in 23 games. He filled in as starter for two games last year while Daniel Jones was recovering from injury.

Hornbuckle is a senior defensive end with 94 tackles, 16 TFL and nine quarterback pressures in 38 games.

Quansah (pictured at top) is a senior linebacker with 102 career tackles, nine TFL and two forced fumbles.

Singleton, a senior safety, was honorable mention All-ACC in 2018. In 35 career games, he has 127 tackles.
