Noah Gray Named to Mackey Award Watch List

Tight end also one of six Blue Devils named to Phil Steele team

For the second straight year, Noah Gray was named to the preseason watch list for the Mackey Award, given to the top tight end in college football.

Gray is one of six ACC players on the watch list, which includes 36 of the country’s top tight ends.

Gray is tied for ninth on Duke’s all-time career list for catches by a tight end, with 76. He also has 663 career yards and six touchdowns.

Gray was also named third-team preseason All-ACC by Phil Steele, who produces a college football preview guide. Gray was one of six Duke payers named to the team.

Kick returner Damond Philyaw-Johnson was first team. He was also named preseason second-team All-American by Phil Steele.
Defensive end Victor Dimukeje was second-team All-ACC. The fourth team included offensive tackle Devery Hamilton, defensive end Chris Rumph II and punt returner Josh Blackwell.
