Son of Duke Basketball Champ Leads USA to Record-Setting Blowout

Potential Duke basketball prize Cameron Boozer may need an MVP trophy room.

Christopher Columbus (Fla.) power forward Cameron Boozer and his twin brother, combo guard Cayden Boozer, were the only two Duke basketball recruiting targets on the USA Basketball U16 National Team that went 6-0 at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship in Mexico.

But the Boozer twins, the sons of 2001 Blue Devil national champ Carlos Boozer, didn't disappoint.

In Sunday's title game against Canada, Cameron Boozer, a five-star who ranks No. 1 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, notched game-highs with his 24 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 10-for-13 from the field. His dominance down low anchored a 118-36 win.

No, that final score isn't a typo. It set a record for the most lopsided victory in USA Basketball U16 history.

Team USA averaged 115.7 points and allowed only 51.7 points per game.

And Cameron Boozer was named the tournament MVP after nearly averaging a double-double — 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds — in only 21.2 minutes per game. Plus, he totaled 15 steals and five blocks for the week.

Cayden Boozer, who sits at No. 27 in the 2025 class and appears on the verge of a five-star rating, finished with only seven points against Canada; however, his seven assists and four steals led all players. He averaged 7.0 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.8 steals across the squad's six outings.

The Boozer twins have not announced finalists in their recruitments or scheduled any official visits. They've held Duke basketball offers since May 2022.
