All-District Running Back Malik Montgomery Commits To Mississippi Valley State
2024 running back Malik Montgomery announced his commitment to Mississippi Valley State on Friday.
The 6-foot, 215-pound running back is from Vicksburg, Mississippi. He held offers from Grambling State, Southern Illinois, and interest from multiple other FCS programs.
Montgomery finished his junior season with 1,141 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. He was named the District 5A Region 2 Player of the Year and led Warren County in rushing yards.
The senior running back was limited to only six games this season, but still rushed for over 400 yards and six rushing touchdowns. Montgomery finished his career as the No. 2 all-time rusher in school history with over 2,000 career rushing yards.
Montgomery is the 13th commitment in the class of 2024 for the Delta Devils. The class is headlined by three-star wide receiver Dequadrion Welch and safety Semaj'Dre Gasaway.
