The Florida Gators won't be near full strength defensively in Columbia today.

Starting defensive ends Jonathan Greenard and Jabari Zuniga will both be sidelined in today's contest against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Both were seen in their street clothes prior to the game while the rest of the team was warming up.

The two edge rushers were labeled as "game-time decisions" this past Monday by head coach Dan Mullen, as they were suffering through ankle injuries. Zuniga had missed three games prior to Florida's meeting with LSU, and reaggravated his ankle against the Tigers.

As for Greenard, he played all of nine snaps against LSU before exiting the game. Mullen stated post-game that Greenard had not practiced the week prior given his injury, but made an attempt to play regardless.

"We don't expect them to play today," said Mullen before kickoff. He stated they're both still rehabbing their ankle sprains.

While today's game against South Carolina is certainly an important one, it's best for the two edge rushers to heal up for the Georgia game coming on November 2nd. That will likely mark Florida's third Top 10 matchup of the year, and the winner of that game will likely represent the East in the 2019 SEC Championship.

Greenard and Zuniga have combined for seven sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 39 quarterback pressures this season for the Gators.
