Miami has lured off-field assistant Benedick Hyppolite back to its football program and away from Florida's, he shared via social media on Tuesday.

Hyppolite, who joined UF as the Gators' running backs quality control coach in Feb. 2022 as a part of head coach Billy Napier's "army" of a support staff, returns to UM as an offensive analyst. Napier hired Hyppolite away from the Hurricanes at that time, as he had spent the 2020-21 seasons as a graduate assistant in Coral Gables.

Serving as an assistant to running backs coach Jabbar Juluke, Hyppolite's position helped create Napier's preferred offensive identity in 2022 as Florida imposed its will via the run game virtually every week.

Sophomore Montrell Johnson Jr. and freshman Trevor Etienne split bell-cow duties en route to a combined 1,560 yards and 16 touchdowns rushing in 13 games. The duo collectively averaged 5.7 yards per carry.

A Miami native, Hyppolite was a part of Booker T. Washington High's first state championships teams in both football and track and field in 2007.

Hyppolite got into coaching at the high school level in South Florida, serving as wide receivers coach at Hallandale (2008), Edison (2009) and Booker T. Washington (2010-13), offensive coordinator at Edison (2014) and Booker T. Washington (2015) and eventually head coach at Hallandale (2016) and Carol City (2017-19).
