GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida's 2023 fall training camp came to its close on Friday when the Gators took to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for the team's second intrasquad scrimmage of the preseason.
The program will transition to its in-season practice model next week, closing its doors to media and beginning to intently prepare for its season-opening matchup with Utah on Aug. 31, in Salt Lake City.
Find All Gators' notebook from the media viewing window of Florida's final fall training camp practice below, as well as our observations from the previous 14 sessions.
Gators Fall Camp 2023: Day 15 Notes and Observations
- Five scholarship members of Florida's roster were not observed in attendance ahead of Friday's scrimmage: Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jack Miller III (shoulder injury), sophomore wide receiver Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman (undisclosed), redshirt senior tight end Dante Zanders (lower body), redshirt junior center Kingsley Eguakun (lower body) and freshman offensive tackle Caden Jones (undisclosed).
- Linebackers, redshirt sophomore Scooby Williams (undisclosed) and sophomore Shemar James (knee), were limited participants in individual drills, seen wearing no-contact jerseys.
- Sophomore offensive tackle Kamryn Waites (Achilles) and walk-on freshman defensive tackle Andre Morris (undisclosed) were witnessed performing rehabilitative drills to the side of the field, in no-contact jerseys.
- Without Miller available, graduate transfer walk-on quarterback Micah Leon has seen an uptick in reps passing to the scholarship receiving corps. With Graham Mertz solidified as the team's starting signal-caller, Leon and redshirt freshman Max Brown appeared to split reps behind Mertz during individual drills and routes on air.
