Edge rusher Quincy Ivory — currently the final anticipated addition to the Gators' 2033 roster — shared that his impending arrival at the University of Florida will come early next week.

He’ll step foot on campus on Monday or Tuesday, he said in a post to Twitter Saturday.

“Officially a Gator … It’s about time,” he added in his post.

The Spring, Texas native’s entrance to the program comes just in time for Florida’s fall camp regimen, as players are set to report on July 30. Billy Napier will lead his second preseason camp period as the Gators' head coach in preparation for their week one bout with Utah on Aug. 31.

Ivory is one of the few late-comers for the program heading into 2023, as Florida held 93% of the roster it will field this season on campus for the spring practice sessions.

Late arrivals include 2023 recruits, wide receiver Eugene Wilson III, cornerback Dijon Johnson, offensive lineman Caden Jones and defensive lineman Gavin Hill, alongside transfers in Ivory, offensive lineman Lyndell Hudson Jr., safety RJ Moten and running back Jakobi Jackson.

After a breakout campaign for East Los Angeles College during the 2022 season, compiling 22 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and five pass breakups in ten games, Ivory began to earn scout looks from several Division-I programs. Florida, arguably the most notable of the group of schools to express interest, recruited the JUCO product to Gainesville following his lone year in Los Angeles.

During an official trip to campus June 9-11 Ivory made his intentions for the future of his collegiate career clear as he committed to Florida on June 10.

The former quarterback-turned-edge rusher provides even more depth to the Gators' newly reconstructed outside linebackers positions spearheaded by assistant Mike Peterson. His ability at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds — albeit limited in scope as he continues to learn the position — presents him as a potential rotational piece at UF.

The Gators will look to maximize that skillset during his expected multi-year career at Florida.

Ivory holds three years of collegiate eligibility.
