It's taken long enough for the Florida Gators to receive national respect as they've extended their active winning streak to 10 games and became bowl eligible as early as possible.

Now, the Gators are getting that respect after their 24-13 victory over the No. 7 Auburn Tigers. The AP Top 25 Poll has Florida climbing up the rankings this week to the No. 7 spot.

Auburn dropped from the No. 7 spot down to No. 12.

Florida hopped ahead of the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers and No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who remained stationary in their respective spots.

The Gators are now the fourth-highest ranked SEC team, behind No. 1 Alabama, No. 3 Georgia, and No. 5 LSU. Florida travels to Baton Rouge this week to face LSU for their second Top 10 matchup in a row, a game that will host ESPN College Gameday

Auburn and Texas A&M (No. 24) round out the rest of the SEC included in the poll for Week 7.

This is the highest position that Florida has found itself in this year, after starting the season No. 8 and falling as far as No. 10 despite not losing a game. And should the Gators beat LSU in Tiger Stadium, chances are they'll find themselves in the Top 5 for Week 8.
