Three key Gators suffer injuries in win over UT-Martin

The Florida Gators handily defeated the UT-Martin Skyhawks in their home-opener on Saturday night by a score of 45-0. However, that victory came with a price.
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney, cornerback C.J. Henderson, and safety Shawn Davis all left the game with injuries.
Toney was the first Gator to go down, after taking a helmet to his upper arm and shoulder area on a reverse in the first quarter. He was taken to the locker room for further evaluation and did not return to action.
Head coach Dan Mullen expressed concern over the injury at his post-game press conference and said it is still being looked into.
Henderson was in deep coverage when he tripped over one of UT-Martin's receivers. He fell to the ground and was slow to get back up until he eventually left the field for the locker room. He returned after halftime with a boot on his left foot and was using crutches to get around.
Mullen believes that Henderson suffered a slight ankle sprain, which is good news, however he didn't specify a timetable for his return. Given the showing the young defensive backs put on, Florida may choose to keep Henderson sidelined against Kentucky next week, as their starting quarterback Terry Wilson could be out a while with a leg injury.
Davis exited the game after making a tackle near the sideline. He limped off the field with what appeared to be a left leg injury and did not see the field again. Mullen was not asked about Davis' injury though, and there have been no further updates.
Injuries happen in football, of course, but the last game you want to lose key components to your team in are games like this one, against FCS opponents where the backups begin playing at halftime.
Stay tuned to GatorMaven for updates on each injury.
