Report: Pair of Former Gators Enter Transfer Portal

A pair of former Florida Gators lasted just a single season at their new schools before entering the transfer portals again.

The transfer portal is open for college football players, and a pair of former Florida Gators have jumped back in after just one season at their new schools according to reports.

Former Gators defensive back Corey Collier transferred to Nebraska last year after seeing action in just five games in 2021 and 2022. He didn't fare much better with the Cornhuskers and is back in the portal according to Matt Zenitz of 247sports.

"Nebraska defensive back Corey Collier has entered the transfer portal, Chris Hummer and I have learned for 247sports," wrote Zenitz on X. "Collier, a former top-100 recruit who transferred to Nebraska from Florida, played in five games for Nebraska last season."

Collier signed with the Gators in 2021 and was considered the No. 90 overall prospect by 247. He left Florida with two tackles and a sack. He didn't register a tackle in five game with Nebraska.

Offensive lineman David Conner signed with the Gators in 2022 and left for Colorado after just one season. He is back in the portal again according to On3's Pate Nakos.

"Colorado offensive lineman David Conner has entered the transfer portal, On3sports has learned," reported Nakos on X.

Conner was a three-star recruit in 2022 according to On3. He didn't play for the Gators as a freshman and left for the Deion Sanders led Buffaloes after his first season. He didn't play for Colorado last year according to his Colorado Buffaloes bio despite the offensive line challenges Sanders faced in his first season.
