DL Dealyn Evans Schedules Extended Unofficial Visit to Florida

The Florida Gators recruiting efforts are trending upward this spring.
Holding five commits in the 2024 class with several other top talents trending toward the University — and the acquisition of its 2025 QB Austin Simmons on Tuesday — Billy Napier has produced fruitful returns at a crucial point in his tenure at UF.
On Wednesday, the positive buzz regarding prospective talent continued as defensive lineman Dealyn Evans confirmed an extended unofficial visit to Florida from Friday through Sunday to All Gators. The trip marks his first to Gainesville as the Gators look to bolster a position of need by flipping the talented trenchman.
Despite his longstanding verbal pledge to Texas A&M, Evans has expressed interest in hearing out what UF has to offer since the program extended him an offer on March 22.
Standing at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, Evans presents significant upside as a disruptive option from the interior defensive lineman at the next level. In Florida's multiple front system, he'd likely assume a versatile role for Sean Spencer's DL group, allowing him to see time as a 3-4 defensive end while he puts on more weight to the long, healthy frame he currently sports.
As a result, Evans is one of the latest targets from Texas.
The Gators have taken an evident interest in the region under the Napier regime. Looking to capitalize on the influx of talent pouring out of the prep hotbed, Florida's expanded its presence away from its usual southeast limitations for talent.
That expansion has aided the unit already in the staff's first two recruiting hauls and it's continued to pay dividends in 2024 as the face of the class, quarterback DJ Lagway, hails from the Lone Star State.
Evans is currently rated as the No. 21 DL in the 2024 class and the No. 155 player nationally, according to 247 Sports Composite.
The Gators will hope to leave a lasting impression on him during his multi-day stay.
