DL Target Malik Blocton Schedules Return Visit to Florida

On Thursday, Pike Road (Ala.) product Malik Blocton will return to campus for his second visit to the program in the new year, he confirmed to All Gators on Tuesday.

The March 24 trek to the middle of the Sunshine State comes just over two months from his previous stop, on Jan. 23.

The visit is at an opportune time for Florida as Blocton recently teased that a top ten schools list — indicating that the first major trim of his 33-team offer sheet is on the horizon. Currently, UF is in a prime position to make the cut and move forward as a top contender for his services.

His last visit to Gainesville was deemed his “favorite visit” when AG spoke with Blocton at the Under Armour All-America camp in Atlanta in February.

Growing in his connection with defensive line coach Sean Spencer and DL assistant Kali James Jr., Blocton left Gainesville feeling like a priority target to replenish the team’s defensive line depth.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder is viewed as a defensive end in Florida’s three-man down front if he were to choose UF.

"They like the way I can stop the run and rush the passer," Blocton said in February. "I can play all three downs, I'm not just a one-trick-pony. [I would] move around. I asked coach Spencer, he was talking about how I'm going to end up playing everything."

The Gators hope Blocton’s return to campus is no different from the first — providing him with a memorable experience — as they continue luring him into taking a spot in the 2024 class.

He occupies a spot of utmost need this recruiting season.
