Florida is moving forward in 2024 defensive tackle Michai Boireau's recruitment process.

On Wednesday, Boireau included the Gators alongside Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M as the eight schools he’d focus on for the remainder of his collegiate search.

Following an April 4 offer, Florida has made a considerable push for the Creekside (Hampton, Ga.) High product to earn way into his trimmed list of contenders.

Interior defensive line is a position of need in the 2024 cycle for Florida, but the class’ relatively thin makeup presents an issue if the Gators were unable to reel in their top targets at the spot, like IMG Academy’s David Stone Jr. and Jones High School’s D’Antre Robinson.

As a result, swinging the bat for an underrated piece like Boireau makes sense for defensive line coach Sean Spencer as he attempts to replenish the unit’s talent and depth this offseason and next.

Standing at 6-foot-5, 350 pounds, the Hampton, Ga., product presents significant upside as a run-stuffing nose tackle to aid the Gators in the endeavor.

Currently, Boireau has just one official visit scheduled for the summer as he’ll head to Ann Arbor to visit Michigan June 23-25.

Florida will likely look to get him on campus in the coming months as they hope to pluck him from the other suitors heavily pursuing his services.
