OT Ethan Calloway Names Florida Among Top 8

Lengthy offensive tackle prospect Ethan Calloway names Florida in his top eight schools following a spring trip to Gainesville.

Mooresville (N.C.) Lake Norman offensive tackle Ethan Calloway is down to eight, naming Florida on the list of contenders remaining in his class of 2024 recruitment.

Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, North Carolina, LSU, Auburn and Penn State join the Gators to comprise Calloway's top eight programs.

Florida entered the mix for Calloway when the coaching staff presented him with an offer in Nov. 2022 during an unofficial visit, when he witnessed the Gators defeat South Carolina in The Swamp, 38-6.

Calloway returned to Gainesville on March 9, 2023, on another unofficial visit, to observe the Gators' spring practices led by head coach Billy Napier.

The 6-foot-7, 300-pound tackle prospect presents the ideal frame for an offensive tackle in Napier's system, presenting ample height and arm length similar to prospects Florida has welcomed at the position over the past year such as transfers Damieon George Jr., Kiyaunta Goodwin and Jordan Herman and class of 2023 signee Caden Jones.

Calloway is considered the No. 19 offensive tackle and No. 215 national prospect in the class of 2024, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Calloway spent his 2022 junior season as Lake Norman's starting left tackle. The prep program reports Calloway as a member of its 1,000-pound weightlifting club, having repped 300 pounds on the bench, 500 pounds squatting and 260 pounds cleaning this offseason.

According to an interview with Inside the Gators, Calloway intends to make his college commitment prior to his senior season.
