Florida lost the commitment of Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day wide receiver Izaiah Williams to Texas A&M on Wednesday during the class of 2024 Early Signing Period.

Williams announced that he has flipped to the Aggies in a signing day ceremony, after officially visiting Texas A&M last weekend.

The move breaks what was a seven-plus-month commitment to the Gators, which began on May 5.

Florida State, Texas, LSU, Miami, North Carolina and South Carolina were among the 29 schools that fought for Williams, the No. 54 wide receiver and No. 327 overall prospect in the class of 2024 by the 247Sports composite rankings, alongside Texas A&M and Florida.

Over two and a half seasons of high school football, Williams averaged 18.7 yards per reception with 84 grabs for 1,574 and 17 touchdowns.

Florida managed to sign three pass-catchers on Wednesday: Receivers Jerrae Hawkins Jr. of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy and Tawaski Abrams of Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar, and tight end Amir Jackson of Portal (Ga.) High. Former Wisconsin wide receiver Chimere Dike, who played alongside now-Gators quarterback Graham Mertz for three years with the Badgers, also announced his transfer to UF.

Each expects to catch passes at Florida from prized Gators 2024 quarterback commitment DJ Lagway, who is scheduled to sign with UF at 4:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
