Blue-Chip TE Recruit Fox Building Rapport With Future Gators QB Lagway

Peach State star, who was recently in Gainesville, to soon trim list.

Kylan Fox is nearing a critical time in his college football recruiting process.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound two-way standout, who most project on offense at tight end in college, is soon to cut an enormous list of 50-plus scholarship offers down to size. The top schools are to be released next week, he says, and there is a rock-solid chance the Florida Gators logo will be included when the graphic is vaulted onto social media.

The Loganville (Ga.) Grayson class of 2024 junior was recently in Gainesville for an updated look at Billy Napier's program, and admits the staff has been pushing on a consistent basis.

"Nothing but cool vibes!" Fox told All Gators about his most recent trek to The Swamp. "Coach Napier is definitely gonna bring back the winning culture. Everything around the place is positive.

"They signed a good class in 2023 and started off hot with my class and getting DJ Lagway."

Of course, the prized Texas dual-threat quarterback is the early crown jewel of the next Gator haul, and he has taken the mantle of lead peer recruiter for the UF brand along the way. Naturally, a potential tight end target is among the priorities on Lagway's list.

"DJ is real cool and he can sling it," Fox said. "He loves to work...

"I’ve seen what he can do."

Fox is building bonds with the staff in Gainesville as well. Each side has hammered out specifics should one of the top undeclared tight end recruits nationally declare for the Gators in the end.

"Me and Coach [William] Peagler are pretty close," he said. "We talk about how the tight ends get used and how I would fit in the system."

While recent trips to Florida, Florida State and Colorado will help to shape the list of top programs next week, Fox admits he's in no rush to end the process. Programs like Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State and many others have also extended scholarship offers his way.

In 2022, Fox helped Grayson to another 10-plus win season before a loss in the state quarterfinal. He hauled in 25 receptions for 326 yards and two touchdowns in a breakout season with the Rams, per MaxPreps.
