WR Mario Craver Names Florida Among Top Schools

After naming the Gators in his crop of contenders, wide receiver Mario Craver will return to Florida this weekend.

As expected, Pinson, (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville 2024 wide receiver Mario Craver included Florida in his top ten schools released Wednesday.

It became evident that the Gators would earn a spot on Craver's list of contenders when he confirmed a return visit to Gainesville scheduled for April 8 with All Gators on March 25, teasing that he would narrow down the teams in his recruitment in the near future at the time.

Craver first visited Florida on March 8 and came away impressed by the mindset head coach Billy Napier and his staff have established within the program.

"I like that everybody has one big goal: to get Florida back to where they used to be. Like, '06, '08," Craver said, referring to the Gators' national championship runs of the 21st century.

"So, I think that coach Napier and those coaches, they have a good plan in mind, and they need playmakers to get the ball, of course, on the offensive side of the ball. They're telling me that they need playmakers that they can get the ball into any space they want on their field."

Craver, 5-foot-9, 152 pounds, is considered the No. 35 wide receiver and No. 239 overall prospect in the class of 2024, per the 247Sports composite rankings. Florida views Craver as a slot receiver prospect who can return kicks and punts early in his career with 10.74-second speed in the 100-meter dash.

Craver hauled in 77 passes for 1,462 yards and 19 touchdowns in 21 games between his sophomore and junior seasons of prep ball.
