Big 10 DB Commit Jamari Howard to Visit Florida Gators

The Florida Gators have been very active in hosting visitors during the spring in an attempt to add to the four commitments they already hold in the 2024 class.

On Tuesday, Michigan State defensive back commitment Jamari Howard will make a return visit to Florida's campus, he confirmed to All Gators on Saturday. The Big 10 pledge is slated to arrive just after the Gators return from spring break and retake the practice field.

Standing at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Howard is a long, athletic cover corner prospect with the ability to lock down his side of the field. He presents oily hips that enhance a knack to put himself in a position to make plays on the football.

His speed and willingness to work downhill against ball carriers put a cherry on top to make him one of the best cornerback prospects the class has to offer. According to MaxPreps, he’s accounted for three interceptions and an incredible 59 pass breakups in two seasons at the varsity level of prep ball.

As a result, he rests as one of secondary coach Corey Raymond’s top defenders on the board.

Howard is committed to the Spartans currently but hasn’t shut off other potential suitors since originally locking in with Mel Tucker and Co. in September 2022. As a result, Florida and other in-state schools will continue pursuing the highly touted coverage prospect.

Thus far, Howard is reciprocating the interest UF’s taken in him.

Raymond and the Gators will continue working to flip the Westland Hialeah product when he makes his way back to Gainesville this week.
