Report: Florida WR Commit To Visit Miami in Week 8

In this story:
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy wide receiver and class of 2024 Florida Gators commitment Jerrae Hawkins Jr. will be in South Florida on Saturday, set to unofficially visit Miami for its Week 8 matchup with Clemson while UF is on bye, according to 247Sports.
So long as the trip goes according to the reported plan, Hawkins will be the second Gators' pledge to visit Miami in as many home games for the Hurricanes.
UF linebacker commit Adarius Hayes witnessed Georgia Tech's improbable victory over UM in Week 6 in which the Yellow Jackets pulled off a Hail Mary, following a Hurricanes' fumble on a play that head coach Mario Cristobal should have deployed the victory formation instead of a run call.
This trip will mark Hawkins' first known trek to another program since his June 26 commitment to the Gators, which followed official visits to Miami, Florida and Penn State in that order over the summer. Hawkins was in town for UF's 29-16 victory over Tennessee in Week 3.
Hawkins is one of four pass-catchers committed to Florida in the class of 2024. He's joined by wide receiver Izaiah Williams of Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day, wide receiver Tawaski "TJ" Abrams of Fort Myers (Fla.) Dunbar and tight end Amir Jackson of Portal (Ga.) High.
The 247Sports composite rankings consider Hawkins to be the No. 37 wide receiver and No. 234 overall prospect in the class of 2024.
Learn more about Hawkins' skill set from his All Gators recruit profile below:
Florida has coveted speed at wide receiver under Napier's leadership and none represent that quality better than Hawkins, who has a 4.25-second 40-yard dash and 6.69-second 60-meter, 10.37-second 100-meter and 21.48-second 200-meter dashes to his name. He averaged 18.1 yards per catch across 97 receptions for 1,751 yards and 20 touchdowns in two varsity seasons at Wheeling Park High School, before transferring to IMG Academy for his senior campaign.
Hawkins will need to add good weight to his frame to withstand the physicality of the SEC, but UF will want to balance his strength and conditioning approach in order to maintain his athleticism.
