Prized class of 2025 Florida commitment and Moore Haven (Fla.) High quarterback Austin Simmons is visiting Ole Miss' football and baseball programs on Friday, he announced via social media.

The visit marks Simmons' first to another program since pledging to Florida on April 4. He journeyed to The Swamp roughly a week after his commitment to witness the Gators' Orange and Blue spring game on April 13, before pouring his focus into spring football at the prep level.

While he is a member of the 2025 recruiting class, Simmons claims to possess a 5.34 grade point average with his high school classes completed already. Simmons' success as a student has led him to consider reclassifying and making the jump to college before the 2023 season, although he has yet to make a decision on that front.

But, such a move would be accepted by the Gators, given the team's need for a fourth scholarship quarterback as expressed by head coach Billy Napier on several occasions this offseason.

“Honestly, yeah. I see more pros than cons," Simmons told On3 Sports about the possibility of reclassifying in May. “I could develop in both sports at such a high level ... as of right now, I’m still thinking about going, talking to my family about it, still trying to figure out the pros and cons of graduating that early."

Should Simmons remain in the class of 2025, however, Florida will continue to face heaps of competition for his services. Simmons currently possesses 27 scholarship offers, with Florida and Ole Miss making up two of his eight Southeastern Conference playing opportunities.

Simmons is considered the No. 4 quarterback and No. 63 overall prospect in the class of 2025, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound signal-caller completed 67.4 percent of his passes to reach 3,161 yards, 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions as a sophomore at Pahokee (Fla.) High, adding three rushing scores.
