Former FSU Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year Commits to Colorado

In this story:
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has continued to make headlines in the NCAA Transfer Portal after taking over as head coach at Colorado. The Buffaloes went 1-11 last season, and Sanders is at the forefront of a major roster overhaul after having over 40 players enter the portal since December.
Former Florida State defensive end Derrick McLendon II, safety Omarion Cooper and linebacker Brendan Gant have all signed on to the Buffaloes, which currently holds the No. 1 transfer class in the country, per 247Sports.
Bishop Thomas, the newest addition to the Buffaloes' squad, announced his commitment to the team via Instagram on Sunday. Thomas was a 3-star recruit out of Bishop Moore Catholic in Orlando, Florida, committing to Florida State in June of 2021.
He made a name for himself on the scout team and was awarded FSU's Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year following 2022. Thomas played in two games for the Seminoles, recording one tackle in the 44-14 win over Boston College and seeing action in the 49-17 win against Louisiana.
The Louisiana native wasn't expected to play a major role at Florida State with the interior defensive line arguably the deepest position on the team. The coaching staff experimented with Thomas on the outside after McLendon moved on.
The young tackle has shown promise in one of the deepest defensive lines in the country and has the potential to grow under the right guidance.
