The Florida State Seminoles currently have the No. 3 transfer class according to 247Sports for 2024, coming off a 2023 season where they went 13-1 and won the ACC. FSU currently has ten 4-star transfer players, six coming from Alabama, and have been filling positions of need left by graduation and the NFL Draft.

A major position of need addressed through the 2024 NCAA Transfer Portal was at quarterback. With Jordan Travis ending his record-breaking career as a Seminole, Florida State needed a solid foundation as true freshman Luke Kromenhoek and sophomore Brock Glenn continue to develop. The 'Noles found their answer in Oregon State and Clemson transfer DJ Uiagalelei.

CBS recently graded all 2024 quarterback transfers and gave Florida State a C+ for Uiagalelei.

"At worst, this move gives Florida State a fairly comfortable floor at quarterback. But therein lies the problem," the report stated. "Jordan Travis was a legitimate playmaker that made a lot of things happen for the Seminoles. Uiagalelei is more of a game manager who doesn't do a whole lot to truly raise an offense's ceiling. That seems like an issue for an FSU team that's losing around 75% of its receiving production."

Uiagalelei is currently listed as a 4-star transfer and the No. 15 transfer overall. He just finished a 2,638-yard passing season with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He added six rushing scores on 68 carries for 219 yards.

Although fifth on the list of the 18 quarterbacks graded, CBS put Duke's Maalik Murphy (Texas), Boise State's Malachi Nelson (USC), Baylor's Dequan Finn (Toledo), and Alabama's Austin Mack (Washington) over Uiagalelei.
