Destyn Hill, formerly Destyn Pazon, was the prize recruit in Mike Norvell’s 2021 recruiting class and a four-star wide receiver out of Edna Kart High School. The top-150 prospect out of Louisiana made his commitment to Florida State official by signing his letter of intent back in February of 2021 and was expected to be a pivotal member of the Seminole offense. However, Hill did not enroll with the rest of his class and the university announced that his enrollment would be delayed due to “a personal matter.”

Nearly two years passed without an official update on the matter or word from Hill himself. That was, until, Hill’s name appeared on FSU’s student directory list in early May. Shortly thereafter, the university athletic department confirmed that the wide receiver would join the football program prior to the 2023 season. On May 12, 2023, Hill officially arrived on campus and was met with an embrace from wide receivers coach Ron Dugans before walking into the Moore Athletic Center.

During a press conference in early June, Hill stated, "It’s amazing and I’m proud of what the team has done over the last two years like I’ve been saying. I can’t wait to contribute and give what I have to offer.”

Destyn Hill’s arrival at Florida State’s first practice of fall camp officially marks the end of a tumultuous two-year journey to Tallahassee. The young wide receiver can now get back to focusing on football, performing in practice, and getting up to speed with a talent-rich wide receiver room before squaring off against the LSU Tigers on September 3rd.

”Running out on that field will feel amazing and I'm looking forward to it," Hill said.
