The next man up is starting defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, who went into free agency last season and is now reportedly signing on for a sixth year with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to his agents.

Nnadi, a two-time Super Bowl champion, played for the Seminoles for four years, coming in as the 4th best tackle in Virginia in 2014. He played in 48 games for FSU, totaling 165 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles during his time in Tallahassee. Nnadi earned all-ACC honors during his final three years with the Seminoles before being selected 75th overall in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

His original four-year rookie deal with the Chiefs was worth $3.7M before he re-signed with the franchise in free agency in 2022.

Known for his low center of gravity and speed off the snap, Nnadi has been an anchoring point on the defense. He's spent five seasons in Kansas City, only missing one game, and will be coming out of his second free agency in a row. He has amassed 193 total tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, one pass deflection, and one interception in 81 career appearances, with 69 starts.

Alongside fellow former 'Nole Joshua Kaindoh, the Chiefs are hoping to make another AFC run and Super Bowl bid next season.
