Former Florida State star defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi has inked a new deal with the Kansas City Chiefs according to his agents at SportsTrust Advisors. Nnadi will be entering his seventh season with the Chiefs after being drafted with the 75th pick in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Kansas City continues to bolster its interior line by keeping the 6'1'', 317-pounder on the payroll. Nnadi's deal with the Chiefs is for one year according to Matt Verderame of SI.com

The three-time Super Bowl Champion played in 17 games last season, totaling 29 tackles and a sack. He was sidelined from the 25-22 Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers with an undisclosed arm injury he suffered in the wildcard matchup against the Dolphins. Nnadi was placed on IR for the remainder of the playoffs.

With such a calm free agency for the Chiefs, Nnadi will likely join Mike Pennel, Chris Jones, and Tershawn Wharton on the defensive line, adding continuity with the re-signing.

The Virginia Beach, Virginia native spent four years at Florida State, earning First Team All-ACC Honors playing alongside former teammate and Chicago Bears defensive end DeMarcus Walker. In his last season with the 'Noles he started in 13 games notching 53 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and 3.5 sacks. All in all, he played in 48 games during his time in Tallahassee, totaling 165 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and 24 tackles for loss.
