Last week, I was granted the opportunity to hear Georgia's franchise player, Dominique Wilkins, speak at the Augusta Bulldog Club meeting. Coming from one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball, Georgia fans should be pleased with the direction the program is heading in.

Wilkins started off by talking about how his career took off.

"This is where it really started for me. It started for me at The University of Georgia," said Wilkins.

After giving some insight on his passion for the school, he quickly began to talk about Crean's similar passion for The University of Georgia.

"He brings so much passion," said Wilkins. "I'll tell you what, I almost went out to my car and got my shoes. I was ready to play."

Wilkins went on to say that he would've loved to play for coach Tom Crean if he would've had the opportunity to during his career.

(I'm sure Georgia would be okay if the NCAA decided to return Dominique Wilkins' final year of eligibility)

Back on to a serious note, Wilkins' preached about how Crean is capable of getting the basketball program to its' full potential.

"Eventually, it's going to happen. It's going to work. When you have that kind of passion and that kind of drive, you can't help but be contagious throughout your organization."

Wilkins finalized his thoughts on Crean by stating, "You couldn't have a better person coaching our school in Coach Crean."

Tom Crean, who also spoke for a couple of minutes, talked about the progression he has seen in his players this summer.

The biggest take away about the program was his vision for the future. Crean talked about how Georgia has hit a new level by bringing talent like Anthony Edwards and Christian Brown. But, that's not the ceiling for Tom Crean. He believes the program will continue to bring in top-level talent every year.

Crean does not have any commitments for the 2020 recruiting class at the moment, but you can trust that he will have some headline signees by next spring.
