The College football season is well underway and with all of the teams in the SEC east now having played, the gap between Georgia and the rest of the SEC East has undoubtedly widened. Let's take a look around the division.

Georgia (1-0): After beating Vanderbilt 30-6 in their SEC divisional opener on the road, Georgia returns home for two non-conference games against Murray State and Arkansas State before one of the biggest regular-season games of the 2019 season against Notre Dame.

UGA's 8.13 Yards per rush was good enough for third in the country last week behind Clemson and Oklahoma.

Florida (1-0): After 83 FBS games this weekend, week 0 feels like ages ago, but nonetheless, the Gators did beat Miami last week, joined by Georgia as the lone undefeated teams left standing already.

The word out of Florida all offseason was that their Quarterback, Feleipe Franks was maturing and going to be substantially better this season. Needless to say, some in the national media aren't too impressed.

Kentucky (1-0): The Wildcats tried to give Toledo some hope in this football game, falling behind early before mounting a 38-24 victory. Kentucky was by no means dominate in this matchup, though Toledo is no slouch of a program, having gone 37-16 since the arrival of Head Coach Jason Candle.

Missouri (0-1): First off, it probably should have been a red flag that Missouri is scheduling a home and home with Wyoming of all programs. I'm not here to take any shots at Wyoming, but you'd think Missouri could have avoided traveling to the highest elevation in college football.

7,165 feet in the air and Barry Odom's squad felt every inch. Getting outscored in the second quarter 27-0 against a Cowboys team that finished 6-6 last season in the Mountain West Conference. Mizzou looks to avoid an 0-2 start as West Virginia comes to town.

South Carolina (0-1): MACK IS BACK! In Mack Brown's first game as head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels since November 22nd, 1997, the Tar Heels win a close one over cross-state rival South Carolina.

South Carolina has one of, if not the, toughest schedules in the 2019 season, having to play Alabama, Georgia, Florida, A&M, and Clemson all in the same season. And the loss to a North Carolina team that was (2-9) last season is not the way to start.

Vanderbilt (0-1): Obviously Vanderbilt was a bit outmatched Saturday against Georgia, but there are certainly some positives to take away from that football game.

First off, Derek Mason is still a fantastic defensive play-caller, and he makes do with the talent made available to him at Vandy. Secondly, Ke'Shawn Vaughn is one of the best backs in college football. If he stays healthy, they will stay competitive.

And this wasn't App State blocking and returning a field goal for a touchdown against Michigan in 2007, Georgia State was winning this football game from the opening possession. Dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides. A tough look for Jeremy Pruitt and company up in Knoxville.

A brief look across to the SEC West...

Gone are the days of old when Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice ran the ball 25 times out of the power-I. That's right, LSU has entered the modern age and is running the full-on spread. Putting up 55 points in their opener against Georgia Southern.

Now, though Southern's defense is no 1985 Chicago Bears, there's something to be said about an upgraded offense at LSU in a year where you are certainly going to have to outscore Alabama with Tua and all his weapons.

We will know more about LSU this weekend as they take on Texas in Austin.
