The 2019 Georgia Football Season is officially underway! After a long offseason, the Dawgs are finally back, with fall camp beginning yesterday.

Today, we take a look at a handful of players on each side of the football that have the most to gain from a successful fall camp before Georgia goes on the road to face Vandy on August 31st.

James Cook, RB

James Cook only had 49 touches last season, (41) carries for (284) yards, and (8) receptions for (89) yards. That's an average of 7.6 Yards per touch.

Now, there's not a position group on Georgia's roster that's deeper than running back, apart from maybe the offensive line. That being said, with Zamir White coming back from an ACL tear, Cook could see his fair share of opportunities to shine this camp.

Kirby Smart has reiterated on several occasions that White is fully healthy, but surely he will be on a pitch count of some sort early this fall, leaving room for Cook.

Cade Mays, OL:

We mentioned the depth at the running back position, and though it is impressive, the talent of this offensive line is unprecedented. Though Cade Mays started 7 games last season and made appearances in 11 of the 14, it's safe to say the majority of that was due to injury.

That being said, Cade has a chance to battle for 4 of the 5 positions along the Georgia front if he has an exceptional camp (Sorry Cade, don't think you're beating out that Andrew Thomas guy, he's pretty good). Cade played multiple positions last season as a true freshman, and there's no reason to think he couldn't do the same this season.

Either way, Cade is certainly the first man up.

Adam Anderson, OLB:

Adam Anderson, the former 5-star from Rome High, had a decent season last year for the Bulldogs. He appeared in 7 games, mostly in a pass rush scenarios, and mounted 16 tackles.

Fall camp is essential for every football player on the team, from the Quarterback returning for his third season as a starter, down to the freshman experiencing college football for the first time. But, when the nation's number one player at your position arrives at camp, it's out of this world important. That's the reality for Adam Anderson, with Nolan Smith now in the fold.

It's not just him though, Brenton Cox and Walter Grant are on alert too.

George Pickens, WR:

This time last year George Pickens was getting ready for his senior season at Hoover high and was committed to Auburn University. Now he's got the opportunity to become the #1 receiver for one of the nation's most potent offenses.

And perhaps that was the main reason for the change in mind in terms of commitment, despite what any bitter Auburn fan tells you. Pickens was smart enough to foreshadow Georgia's massive loss in target shares, granted he never could have foreseen Holloman's suspension.

Either way, Pickens has the ability and gifts to become an elite, #1 wide receiver for this offense, this camp will prove whether or not he will live up to the hype as early as this season. My guess? SEC corners better be on alert.
