Andrew Thomas was a first-team Freshman All-American in 2017, starting every game at right tackle for the squad that lost the national championship.

He followed it up with 13 starts at left tackle last season, making the transition and flipping sides seamlessly. Such ability to play multiple positions is part of the reason Thomas has received such acclaim leading into the season.

The main reasoning however is, he's downright nasty. He's easily the country's best-run blocker, receiving countless 85.0+ ratings in the run game from PFF.com during his time at UGA.

What you'll see in Andrew Thomas's film is a player who's a violent technician. Though he was a 4-star prospect, and that's nothing to scoff at, Andrew Thomas has climbed up draft boards and All-American ballots because he's perfected his technique and he's done so with a violent edge.

Take a look:

Dane Brugler of The Athletic described the Tackle from UGA. "At 320-ish pounds, Thomas has outstanding feet and body coordination to protect the edge against athletic pass-rushers. He redirects well against counters and plays comfortable in space, using his long arms and forceful hands like shock absorbers."

The coaching staff has extended a bit more of expectations on players like he and Jake Fromm. Guys who have been in the program, and starting, for multiple seasons. Calling upon them to impact those around them, and of course dragging them along to SEC Media Day.

Here's a bit of what Andrew Thomas had to say:
