Daniel Calhoun Commits to Georgia
Daniel Calhoun, a 6' 6.5" Marrietta, GA native, announced that he would stay home and commit to the Georgia Bulldogs, choosing them over Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and Texas to continue his football and academic career.
Daniel Calhoun is one of the many offensive tackles that current Dawg commit Dylan Raiola has mentioned wanting to keep in-state. The 4-star recruit is currently rated as the No. 6 OT in the country, according to 247Sports composite rankings. The massive prospect weighs north of 350 lbs and has a long-standing relationship with the Bulldogs.
He has been on Smart's board for a very long time. In February, when Calhoun spoke with Dawgs Daily about his recruitment, Calhoun mentioned how Georgia had recruited him since he was an eighth grader. This was likely one of the many reasons that he chose to stay home with the Dawgs. They were the first to offer which will always help a school stand out amongst the rest, especially as the in-state power. Calhoun also mentioned that Stacy Searels is a "really good" offensive line coach and that he keeps in touch with him about once a week prior to his decision.

Smart and staff are seemingly wrapping up what will likely be the No. 1 rated recruiting class, as they have now landed just over 20 commits in the '24 class. They also have six current commits within the 2025 class.
