4-star Tight End Carter Nelson Sets Commitment Date

2024 tight end Carter Nelson has announced when he will be committing.

The college football recruiting scene has been running hot as of late, and Georgia has been joining in on the fun as they have landed several commitments over the last month and are looking for more. High school prospects all over the country and narrowing down their decision, and 2024 tight-end prospect Carter Nelson has announced when he will be making his. 

Nelson announced on Twitter that he will be announcing his commitment this Wednesday at noon. The Nebraska native is rated as a top ten tight-end prospect in this year's class and a top 100 player, according to 247 Composite rankings.

Nelson visited the University of Georgia in early June, and the Bulldogs have been heavily in the mix during Nelson's recruitment. However, Nebraska is also a school that inserted themselves into the conversation, and the Cornhuskers appear to be in a good position to land the highly-rated tight end. It's also worth mentioning that Georgia currently has two tight ends committed to their 2024 class in Colton Heinrich and Jaden Reddell, so one could see why Nelson might look elsewhere for his college career. 

Tight end coach Todd Hartley has done an impeccable job recruiting the position while in Athens, so with him on staff Georgia always has a chance at landing players like Nelson. But even if they don't, the Bulldogs will be in good hands at tight end for the foreseeable future.
