Bye Week Thoughts: Can it be hate week already?

With Florida vs. Georgia right around the corner and the bye week fully in effect, it has some of us wondering, can it be hate week already?

Bye Week Thoughts: Can it be hate week already?

No offense to Geoff Collins and the boys in Atlanta, but I think I can speak for the members of Bulldog nation when I say, Florida is far and away the biggest rival of Georgia football.

And though I am not authorized to speak on behalf of those wretched Gators, I can tell you that with Miami & FSU in the dumps, the feeling is mutual on their end.

Both teams just so happen to be in the midst of their second bye week of the season, a new introduction to college football, thanks to Florida and Miami getting down in Week Zero back in August this season. But that hasn't stopped fans and players alike for starting the smack talk a little early.

It's a tale of two fan bases at this point in the season, Florida fans are riding a wave that's included a key win over Auburn at home, a hard-fought loss on the road in Baton Rouge, and a win over South Carolina.

Whereas Georgia has gone through a two week stretch of games, a loss to South Carolina and a lackluster win in a downpour against Kentucky, that has fans questioning a litany of things beginning with the offensive coordinator. Warranted or not.

In other WLOCP news, the rumors and discussion about moving this contest away from Jacksonville and back to a home and home series has been put to rest as the sides are coming to an agreement on a new deal.

Despite Kirby Smart and Dan Mullen finally agreeing on something, which is to get this back to a home and home for recruiting purposes, it's just not going to happen. Much to the delight of perennial attendees.

Georgia opened as a 5.5 point favorite according to ESPN despite their play over the past two weeks. Enjoy the remainder of the bye week Dawg fans.
