CJ Allen Earns SEC Freshman Player of the Week Award

With the absence of Jamon Dumas-Johnson from the Bulldogs lineup, they turned to freshman CJ Allen, who picked up his first career accolade.

Film study for the Georgia Bulldogs during Sunday's meetings likely didn't last too long, with not many negatives to go over from their dominant performance over Ole Miss. Plenty of Georgia's stars shined in this game to help them run the Rebels back to Mississippi. One of the key players from this performance is linebacker CJ Allen. 

With the Dawgs' starting linebacker out in Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Allen got his first career start and showed out as he earns his first career accolade, being named the SCE Freshman Player of the Week for Week 11. He had nine tackles, which led the team, and also tallied a sack while holding Ole Miss to their lowest-scoring game of the season. 

Allen follows up with Nazir Stackhouse, who added an SEC Player of the Week award in week 10 to his resume for his performance against Missouri.

• TE, Brock Bowers (Ankle) - "He didn't play every snap of every game anyways, but he's in good shape, he's conditioned. I don't know that he's 100%, but he's healthy and safe enough to play and we are gonna let him play if he wants to play."
• OT, Amarius Mims (Ankle) -
• DB, Julian Humphrey (Shoulder) - "I don't know how long it's going to be. He's got an upper-body injury, but he's dinged up."
• DL, Zion Logue -
• WR, Ladd McConkey (Ankle?) -
• LB, Jamon Dumas-Johnson (shoulder) -
• Dan Jackson (Knee) - He played against Ole Miss in mop-up time.
• Darris Smith "He is focused on academics right now, I wouldn't say he's with us but he's focused on academics right now."
• Xavian Sorey - Sorey did not dress vs Missouri and Kirby Smart said that he was dealing with personal things.
• RB Branson Robinson (Knee) - Robinson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after a preseason knee injury.
