5-Star DL Eddrick Houston Announces His Commitment to Ohio State

Eddrick Houston, a 5-star defensive lineman from Buford High School, announced his commitment decision for which college he will be attending. The nation's fourth-best DL announced he would be committing to The Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day.
Houston picks the Buckeyes over Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, and the USC Trojans. Before his commitment, Ohio State's 2024 recruiting class was ranked second in the nation according to 247Sports, just behind Georgia's elite No. 1 class. The Buckeyes hold commitments from Jeremiah Smith, Air Noland, and Justin Scott. Now they will be adding Houston.
Ohio State's recruiting strategy has been clear this offseason: trying to steal recruits from Kirby Smart and Georgia. Smart has been working on flipping Smith, and even Raiola has since the two grew a relationship when Raiola was an OSU commit. Georgia also recruited Scott heavily, and he likely still receives messages from the coaching staff.
Georgia has a strong standing relationship with one of the nation's best defensive ends despite the fact he just committed to Day and OSU. Smart and Tray Scott will likely continue to reach out to the Georgia native throughout his senior season and try to get a flip in his commitment before early signing day comes.
