Georgia men's basketball and head coach Mike White has been busy on the recruiting trail as of late whether it be in the transfer portal on snagging high school prospects. The latest recruiting action came from a 4-star guard in the 2023 recruiting class, Silas Demary Jr, announcing his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Demary Jr. is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and was at one point committed to play basketball for the USC Trojans. He even signed his national letter of intent to play there. After decommitting earlier this month and getting out of LOI though, Demary Jr, now finds himself joining coach White and the Bulldogs. Demary Jr. is rated as a top 100 player in the nation and top 15 at his position.

In 30 games during his high school senior season, Demary Jr. averaged 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. For a guard, he carries a great frame as he stands at 6-4 and 180 pounds according to his recruiting profile.

Georgia has also recently received commitments from two players in the transfer portal. RJ Melendez announced he would be making the move from Illinois to Athens and shortly after that Jalen Deloach announced his commitment to Georgia after transferring out of VCU. Both Deloach and Melendez carry tremendous size and will be big-time contributors for the Bulldogs as soon as they arrive on campus.

Coach White took the job at Georgia knowing he would have to commit himself to help turn the program around and he has made tremendous strides in regard to that. The Bulldogs are running hot on the recruiting trail and have gotten several players that will be immediate contributors during the 2024 season, which is exactly what the Bulldogs need after losing several contributors from last season to the portal.
