After following up on their historic 2021 national championship season with a perfect 15-0 season and a second straight national title, the Georgia Bulldogs have earned a nomination at the ESPYS for "Best Team". Other teams nominated for the award were NBA Finals champions Denver Nuggets, Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs, and the Oklahoma Sooners Softball team.

The ESPYS is an award show hosted by the sports network ESPN and annually recognizes numerous sports personalities, athletes, and teams from all over the nation. Some notable recipients are Stuart Scott, Stephen Curry, and Jimmy Valvano

The Bulldogs' nomination comes after the team earned its first SEC Championship victory since 2017, defeating Ohio State in a legendary Peach Bowl game, and thrashing TCU in a historic 65-7 victory during the 2023 national championship. Georgia's 2021 national championship team was also nominated but it was instead the Golden State Warriors who took home the award.

The award ceremony will be held on July 12 in Los Angeles, Calif. Coverage will begin at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
