Jalen Carter Visiting with the Las Vegas Raiders

In this story:
With the NFL draft drawing closer, prospects are continuing to visit with potential landing spots. Former Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter visited with the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the week, and now he is reportedly visiting with the Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday. The Raiders currently hold the seventh overall pick in the first round of the draft.
While this may not seem like groundbreaking news, it is some of the more prominent news to come out considering a little over a week ago reports surfaced that the Raiders had scratched Carter off of their draft list. Now he is visiting with the team which could mean that they are interested in taking the former college star after all.
Information was also recently released by Carter's agent that he would only be taking visits with teams that currently hold a pick inside the top 10, and the Raiders certainly fit that mold. NFL draft agent Drew Rosenhaus said, "I'm confident Jalen will go in the top 10," Rosenhaus told Schefter. "He's a good person, a family man, loves football, and is a generational talent."

In Mel Kiper's most recent mock draft, he had Carter going 5th overall to the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL draft analyst is of the belief that the Georgia defensive lineman is the best prospect available in this year's draft. In Kiper's player evaluation of Carter, he stated, "Carter did not have a good pro day, but NFL teams believe he's too talented to pass up."
Carter has been considered one of the top players in college football for the past couple of years and at one point looked like a potential candidate to be the first player taken overall in this year's draft. Now with a little over three weeks remaining until the draft kicks off, Carter is hoping that he remains within the top 10 of the draft order. And him meeting with two top-ten teams just this week indicates he will become just that.
