Georgia Football's Divaad Wilson has Entered the Transfer Portal

Georgia defensive back, Divaad Wilson has entered the transfer portal.

After two seasons in Athens, former four-star prospect out of Miami, Florida, Divaad Wilson has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Wilson played in 13 games in 2019 after redshirting in 2018 for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was playing behind rising senior Mark Webb and with the expected move of Tyrique Stevenson to the STAR position, it could have impacted Wilson's decision to leave the University of Georgia.

Wilson made the following statement via his Twitter account today:

"My time at the University of Georiga has been a wonderful experience... especially the fans, I love you guys and the atmospheres, but I have decided that parting ways with UGA so I can be closer to home during this time would be in my best interest for me.... My name will be further entered in the Transfer Portal - Divaad "Newt" Wilson"

So, with Wilson being from Miami, obviously, the Hurricanes become an immediate target destination for the former Georiga defensive back, with several other Florida schools being in play as well.

Distance appears to be the primary point of concern for Wilson, of course, he's not going to say it's about playing time because we just don't know how the STAR position was going to shake out in 2020 but all signs now point to Stevenson and Webb battling it out this fall for the starting role.
