CFB Expert Calls Georgia a "Lock" for the College Football Playoff
ESPN Analyst Greg McElroy is well-versed with SEC Football and the workings of the sports' premier conference — or at least typically premier conference. He spent four years in the conference as a player at Alabama and is now one of the conference's faces as an analyst for the conference's TV partner ESPN.
McElroy was on this ESPN-affiliated podcast "Always College Football" and stated that Georgia re-entered that tier one discussion this past weekend with their dominant win over Kentucky.
"We are adding Georgia back to group one. A lock for the College Football Playoff. You look at how they played last week, and look how they performed against Kentucky. You're gonna say 'well Kentucky's not good.' That's fine. I think the Kentucky win will hold up over time, but I'm more enamored with how they looked in the Kentucky win, and how Carson Beck is progressing, and how they're starting to identify their own tendencies, and how they're going to start playing into those tendencies."
He went on to say that Georgia is a "lock to make the College Football Playoff."
